Rules & Regulations for Comment

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed the Regulation of Cannabis, codified as Chapter 16 of the San Francisco Police Code, on December 5, 2017. Pursuant to Article 16, the Office of Cannabis (OOC) may issue Rules and Regulations interpreting Article 16 and providing additional guidance and clarification.

How it Works

  1. Any person may present written comments relevant to the proposed Rules.
  2. Comments can be submitted electronically on this website, via an email to officeofcannabis@sfgov.org, or in writing to: Office of Cannabis, City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Pl. Room 018
  3. Written comments become part of the public record.
  4. To guarantee consideration, all comments should be submitted by 5 p.m. no more than 14 days after the proposed Rules are posted.
  5. The scope of comments on each subject is intended to be broad. The public is encouraged to address not only the specific draft rules, but the general subject matter that each rule addresses.
  6. The public is further encouraged to suggest alternative rules concerning these subjects.
  7. There is no guarantee that the final rules adopted by the OOC pertaining to these subjects will track the draft rules posted by OOC. The purpose of receiving comments is to fully inform OOC so that the final rules adopted will be reasonable and well founded.
